The Garden Club of Georgia actively solicits donations from clubs and individuals to support Garden Therapy programs at the seven state psychiatric hospitals in Georgia. State budget cuts have severely limited funding and these hospitals rely heavily on our support to maintain their programs. Donations should be sent to GCG Garden Therapy Treasurer Janis Stapleton, 544 Skyland Drive, Cornelia GA 30531-1838. Please use the Donation Voucher when sending your check. Life Membership Donations
GCG encourages clubs to honor special people with Life Memberships at the State, Region or National levels. Donations made in honor of those individuals will be used for scholarships and the individual being honored will have his/her name listed in the GUIDE and at the Life Member luncheon. Patron of Scholarship and Named Scholarships
GCG is delighted to accept donations in any amount towards our scholarship program. If you wish to honor someone special and donate a minimum of $200 specifically to one of the GCG scholarship funds, please use the Patron of Scholarship form. For smaller donations use the Scholarship Donation form.
In recent years, GCG has been accepting larger donations to create Named Scholarships in memory of or in honor of specific persons or organizations. There is currently a $1,000 minimum contribution required to establish such a scholarship. Funds are requested to be received by December 1st of each year in order for the scholarship committee to be able to make the awards to students. Please contact our Scholarship Chairman, Vice President Dot Williams at DWilliams@imediagroup.biz or 478-477-1742 for further details, or complete the Named Scholarship Donation Form.
A new GCG donation category was established in 2005 to encourage members and clubs to support historic landscape preservation efforts within our state through the Historic Landscape and Garden Grant Program. Those clubs donating $25 or more to this program will receive a "Partner of Preservation" certificate at the spring convention. For donations of $100 or more, a "Patron of Preservation" certificate will be awarded. Make checks payable to GCG and mail to:
