GCG has partnered with the Office of the Governor and the Department of Economic Development to produce a video for Garden Week in Georgia, introduced by Governor and Mrs. Nathan Deal, and also featuring Caroline Silcox, former President of the Garden Club of Georgia (2011-2013). View the video.
District Meetings: The seven Districts held fantastic Fall Meetings to start the new term and highlight all the projects for this administration. In January and February, they will be having board meetings to continue promoting wonderful events. See the Calendar of Events for the dates of various activities.

Convention News: See the convention page for an update of the Deep South and GCG Annual Conventions held this past spring.

Historic Preservation: The Historic Garden Grants program will have a Fantastic Luncheon & Lecture this year for their fundraiser, rather than a Garden Pilgrimage. Place February 27, 2014 on your calendar and come to Savannah to hear J. Dean Norton, Director of Horticulture at George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate.

Scholarship News: The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. continues in its commitment to the future of our state's young people and is proud to announce that in 2012-2013, $64,000 was awarded to 22 students; in 2013-2014, $63,000 was awarded to 23 students; for a total amount of $127,000 awarded to 45 Georgia college students majoring in garden-related areas during the past administration. Over 70 applications were read and evaluated by the Scholarship Committee.

This Barred Owl has taken up residency in the tree right outside the window at the top of the stairs at Headquarters.
